If you are a member of the Writers’ Community of Durham Region, you are eligible to guest blog for RAW.

We invite you to consider contributing to the RAW blog with posts that are relevant to the concept of reading as a writer. How you approach this is up to you. We’ve had posts on a variety of topics, from re-reading books that we loved in the past, to whether to stick with or give up on an unsatisfying read, to exploring exactly how our reading experience has changed since becoming writers. We also welcome reviews on writing-related books.

RAW wants to know…

  • How has your reading experience changed since becoming a writer?
  • Have you tried re-reading a book you’d loved in the past since becoming a writer? How has the experience impacted your thoughts/feelings on the book?
  • What’s your favorite book on the craft of writing? Why?
  • What are your pet peeves when it comes to reading someone else’s work? What kicks you out of your reading experience? What do you have trouble overlooking?
  • What do you notice most about an author’s storytelling? What do you like best?
  • What does “reading as writers” mean to you?

Whether you’re a new writer, or you’ve been calling yourself a writer for years, all perspectives are welcome. Guest blogging is a great way to get your voice out there, start building your author platform, and increase your existing blog readership. If you’re just starting out in the blogging world, this is a way to test things out.
